KEAM 2025: Kerala MBBS/BDS First Allotment Rescheduled! New Dates & Detailed Guide for Option Registration

This is a crucial update for all students and parents involved in the KEAM 2025 Kerala NEET Counselling for MBBS and BDS courses. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has officially announced a revised schedule for the first phase of allotment, following directives from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
This revision provides a valuable opportunity for every student to reconsider and finalize their college choices. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what has changed and what you need to do next.
Why Was the Schedule Revised?
The primary reason for this change is to align the state counselling process with the national schedule set by the MCC. This ensures a smoother, more synchronized admission process for students across India. The provisional allotment list published on August 5, 2025, is now considered void. A new list will be generated based on the options confirmed during this extended window. A Note for Students Who Received a Trial Allotment on August 5th
Many students and parents may have seen the trial allotment list that was published on August 5th and might be concerned about what this revision means. Please do not panic.
The trial allotment was a preliminary list. While it is now void, the final allotment on August 18th is expected to be very similar. The fundamental data—your rank and the number of available seats—has not changed. This rescheduling is a procedural step to align with the national timeline.
If you were allotted a seat in the trial, there is a very high probability you will secure a similar or the same seat in the final list, provided you log in and re-confirm your options between August 9th and 15th. Even if you miss a seat in the first round, be patient. Based on last year's trends, many students secure their desired seats in the second and subsequent rounds of allotment. Use this time to confirm your choices confidently.

What Does This Mean for You? A Golden Opportunity
This extension is more than just a date change; it's a strategic advantage. It gives every student, regardless of whether they have submitted options before, a fresh chance to:
Register for the First Time: If you missed the initial window, you can now complete your option registration.
Review and Reorder: Carefully reassess your existing list of college preferences.
Add or Delete Options: You have the flexibility to add new colleges you may have overlooked or remove ones you are no longer considering.
Important Note for Registered Students: If you have already paid the option registration fee, there is no need to pay again. You can directly log in and modify your choices.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Option Registration (August 9 - August 15)
Follow these steps carefully to ensure your choices are registered correctly:
- Visit the Official CEE Website: Go to www.cee.kerala.gov.in.
- Login to the Candidate Portal: Click on the ‘KEAM 2025 - Candidate Portal’ and enter your Application Number, Password, and the provided Access Code.
- Access the Option Registration Page: Once logged in, you will find the link for ‘Option Registration’. Click on it to proceed.
- Add Your Choices: You will see a list of available colleges and courses. Select the ones you wish to be considered for and add them to your list.
- Arrange Your Preferences: This is the most critical step. Drag and drop your selected options to arrange them in your precise order of preference. The college you want the most should be at the top (Preference No. 1).
- Save Your Options Periodically: It is good practice to save your options frequently to avoid losing your work due to internet or power issues.
- Final Review and Lock: Before the deadline on August 15, 2025 (11:59 PM), review your list one last time. While the system may auto-lock your last saved options at the deadline, it is always better to lock them yourself to be certain.
The DOPA team strongly advises every student to use this time to make well-researched and thoughtful decisions. Your choice list is the key to securing your dream medical seat. For personalized guidance, DOPA students are encouraged to contact their coordinators immediately.
